Love this place! My Dad has been a resident at Brookdale Lake Charles since 2017 and I couldnt be happier! I am out of state and take comfort in knowing that he is safe and well cared for. He enjoys all of the benefits the community offers, especially the field trips. The staff has been exceptional with responding to my questions and assisting me and my Dad with anything that may arise. I am grateful to have the good people at Brookdale Lake Charles watching over my Dad and highly recommend this community.
In the past year we have seen some amazing changes occur at Brookdale. Mr. Randy Stelly has done a great job in assembling his team. Can't say enough good things about how much the activities and resident engagement has improved. But most importantly the staff's care and love they have for the residents is real. And then on top of all this, the remodel and update to the facility makes it warm and inviting. Thank all of you for taking such good care of my family member.
Residents and associates are valued and management makes it a point to listen and provide a wonderful community environment.

Can't say enough good things about how much the activities and resident engagement has improved. But most importantly the staff's care and love they have for the residents is real. And then on top of all this, the remodel and update to the facility makes it warm and inviting. If I were in Mr. Stelly's position, I would be concerned about other facilities trying to lure away his team members.
My mother has been living here since March when her dementia progressed to the point that it was unsafe for her to live alone. I reviewed every assisted living facility in Lake Charles thoroughly and though they all seemed adequate, Brookdale stood out. Since having her there, the staff has gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome, as well as or family. She has recently been diagnosed with singles. All of the staff has been so helpful with this but especially Jeremy Fontenot, Rebecca Scott and Tapestry. Their genuine care and concern for mama has meant the world to me. Thank you to them and all the staff for all that you do.
In January of 2016 I wrote a post that was very negative regarding the Brookdale buy out of Emeritus. And I don't regret posting it, we as family members went through a lot of worry about the care of our loved ones. In December of 2016 a true miracle took place. Mr Randy Stelly took over as director and he has put the right kind of staff in place. This man knows what he's doing!! Treating employees with respect and letting them know that they are appreciated for all the hard work and care for those especially in the Clairebridge unit has made all the difference in the world. Mom is in heaven now since September 29, 2017 and I'm going to miss everyone dearly. Take notice Brookdale Corporate office!! You have a real gem here and you'll never find another one like Mr Stelly.
